Bereavement ministry is a special lay outreach to console and support those who are mourning the death of a loved one. Bereavement ministers represent the parish community by offering a gentle and supportive presence as they assist families to plan the funeral liturgy, by visiting the wakes of every parishioner, and by following up with families to offer grief support resources.
As you can imagine, many helping hands are needed for this ministry. No experience is necessary, only a willing ear and an open heart are required! Please consider joining us as we bring consolation to our grieving parishioners and friends. If we reach out to each other as neighbors, our own grief becomes easier to bear.
Since the sharing of homemade sweets play a big part in fellowship, we are also seeking people to serve on the Parish Baked With Love group to provide baked goods for each visitation
If you are interested in sharing a little of your time, please call the Parish Office (708-422-0234) and leave your name and phone number, we will call you and discuss training for this meaningful ministry.
