Since 2009, the St. Gerald Rosary Makers have been making, sharing and spreading devotion with the world's spiritualy needy through the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
In January 2009, while visiting Naples, Floriday, Rosemary Kazmierczak joined the St. William's Rosary Makers, Impressed by their work, she came home with beads, string, measuring boards, needles, spacers and instruction sheets to start the St. Gerald Rosary Makers. In the beginning, 5 women joined St. Gerald Rosary Makers.
The Rosary Makers meet every Thursday moring at the St. Gerald Parish Office from 10:30 am until noon, September thru May to pray, work, pick up supplies and socialize.
In addition to the beautiful beaded rosaries, Rosemary learned to make knotted twine stealth rosaries that are distributed to the troops thru Army Champlains, USO's, individual soldiers thru Jacky Connelly's Soldier Care Packages and many more. Today, the St. Gerald Rosary Makers continue to work with St. William's. The beaded rosaries are distrubuted all over the world thru St. Williams's and the Universal Living Rosary Association. The rosaries are also sent to prisons, nursing homes and hospitals.
The St. Gerald Rosary Makers have received awards every year since 2009. In 2016, The St. Gerald Rosary Markers contributed more than 5,000 rosaries to help St. William's achieve a goal of two million rosaries.
Every fall, the St. Gerald Rosary Makers have an annual fund drive to help raise funds for supplies and postage expenses.
St. Gerald Rosary Makers welcome everyone, women and men, from St. Gerald and the surround parishes to learn how to make beaded or knotted rosaries and to join us.
